Wednesday's Rumored Netflix Exit Debunked by New Report

Despite being one of its biggest hits of all time, Netflix has not announced a renewal yet for Wednesday. At this point, it felt inevitable that it will get an official green light for a second season although we still have not heard any word even though it's been more than a month since its release.

Recently, reports came around online that the series might actually leave Netflix and potentially move to Prime Video due to the rights since the show's production company MGM Television is owned by Amazon, which recently acquired the studio.

Now, we can put that rumor to rest as a report from What's on Netflix has clarified that Wednesday will not be leaving Netflix and the article that started the rumor was just based on pure speculation.

The report stated that the decision behind Wednesday's future is all in the hands of Netflix itself since they currently own the option for the series and they have control over its fate. Even if the series doesn't get renewed for a second season, it will stay on the streamer for around ten years.

In addition, while Amazon can break out of the contract early, it wouldn't be an easier move since there are a lot of legal complications, contracts, and payouts that they have to settle before they can actually pull out the hit series from its current home.

Fans can now rest easy as we have the assurance that the series will not be leaving Netflix. Now, all we can do is wait for its official renewal for a second season, which is a sure thing at this point with all the records that they're breaking and reports that they have started planning out the next installment.

We should be hearing more updates about the status of Wednesday in the coming days or weeks. At the very least, we won't be expecting it to move to another home.
