Watchmen Writer Quotes Adrian Viedt When Commenting On The Absence Of A Second Season

Watchmen was a huge hit when it premiered last year. Not only did fans love Damon Lindelof's live-action sequel to the events in Alan Moore's Watchmen graphic novels, but critics loved the series as well, praising the show for the depth and complexity of its themes, characters, and narrive threads.

Fans have been hoping that the success of Watchmen would result in a second season for the series, however, series showrunner Damon Lindelof has said that he isn't really interested in working on a second batch of episodes for the show. This shouldn't come as a surprise to fans – even before the show premiered, Lindelof reiterated time and time again that Watchmen would be a one-season project. We shouldn't really be angry at the showrunner for making true something that he's reminded fans over and over again.

Taking to Twitter, Watchmen writer Lila Byock decided to comment on the news that Watchmen wouldn't be getting any more new episodes from HBO.

"Actually, some things *do* end and that's okay," the writer wrote on a post on Twitter. For those who aren't familiar with the callback, the post is a reference to Doctor Manhattan's advise to Adrian Veidt in the original graphic novels by Moore.

While might some take this post as an acceptance that Watchmen isn't going to have a second season, some can hold on to hopes that his could be a tease linking to Veidt's return. We can hope, can't we?
