Watchmen Writer Comments on the Show Not Getting a Second Season

HBO's Watchmen series has ended and fans are still talking about it, due to its quality, great writing, and awesome special effects, among other things. Living up to its promise, the show had a fairly self-contained story, with only a little room for another season, though fans still do want to see one. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be getting one since showrunner Damon Lindelof has left the show and HBO won't make a new season without him, even though he gave them the blessing to do so.

Lila Byock, one of the show's writers, has commented on the Lindelof possibly not returning, telling fans on Twitter "Actually, some things *do* end, and that's okay." Some might say it's a "hot take" but the truth of the matter is that HBO's Watchmen sequel had a wonderful ending and no one needs to see it continue.

Hell, Alan Moore didn't even want a sequel to Watchmen so the fact that this show ended up being of high quality of a miracle unto itself. You can be mean and say that this is glorified fanfiction and just happened to interest HBO into making it an official show but so is Kingdom Hearts. Fight me.

While the show might not be getting a second season anytime soon - or, let's be honest, ever - fans can still check out HBO's Watchmen in a number of ways. It should be streaming in the most popular HBO apps and will definitely be available on HBO Max, which is scheduled for a 2020 release.
