Watchmen: Regina King Reveals the Truth About Lube Man's Impressive Slide

The first season of Watchmen had so many memorable moments but we're pretty sure that the most iconic scene was that time that the slippery Lube Man just ... slid down a street drain. Amazingly, Regina King has just revealed that there were no special effects involved in that particular sequence.

King recently spoke to IGN where she admitted that Lube Man actually did that entire stunt without any problems.

"It was wild. It was wild just to see the guy do it. I was like, ‘Yo, that's bananas!'," King confessed. She also confirmed that the unnamed stuntman who did the slide was already working against the elements when they shot the scene.

"It was cold as s--t that day. So he's out there in that polyurethane, whatever it was that he had on, and he did that, and that was amazing," King said. "They built that little drain so that he can slide in it. But yes, that was an actual stunt."

We really can't unsee that scene and it's even more impressive when you realize that there were no special effects involved. For now, we know that Lube Man is Dale Petey but the stuntman who did that epic slide is the true hero here. Angela's reaction alone was worth it, really.

HBO has not yet renewed Watchmen for a second season.
