The wait for Euphoria Season 2 is almost over.

HBO has released an official trailer for the upcoming season of the critically acclaimed drama about the days and ways of a gang of down-and-out high school students, ahead of its return.

Euphoria Season 2 Expectations

After that long chat with Ali, we hoped Rue would find a way to turn a corner, but we've learned that healing does not happen in a straight line. She's battling her sobriety, her identity, and her feelings for Jules and everyone else in her life. In the new season, she'll try to enlist some help, but how long will it last?

Of course, this trailer does a fantastic job of presenting characters other than Rue. While Zendaya is amazing, there are a number of characters we haven't seen or heard from since Season 1 ended.

Many of them are portrayed here, and we'll witness a lot of characters go through extreme transformations as they try to enter new phases and better find out who they want to be. Cassie is one of these individuals, and she appears to be in for a major season after opting to change a lot of things about herself.

Euphoria Season 2 Air Date

The second season of Sam Levinson's critically praised HBO drama series will premiere at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. ET. HBO will show new episodes on a weekly basis, and HBO Max will stream them.

Euphoria Season 2 has been a long time coming. The new episodes were supposed to premiere in March 2020, but the pandemic prompted the season to be put on hold indefinitely.

Meanwhile, Levinson got inventive and came up with two solo installments focusing on Zendaya and Hunter Schaffer's characters. These Euphoria episodes, which released as Christmas and New Year's specials late last year, served as a bridge between the show's first and incoming second seasons.

Between seasons of Euphoria, the program became a fan favorite, and Zendaya stunned the industry by winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2020. The series also won Emmys for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics and Outstanding Contemporary Makeup.

Zendaya was most recently seen in the box office sensation Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed $260 million in its first weekend.

Specific plot details for Euphoria Season 2 remain under wraps.
