Watch: What if Guardians of the Galaxy had an Anime Opening?

There’s been this recent trend on the internet of editing Marvel films into anime openings. We already have ones for Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War, and the latest film to get the treatment is the first Guardians of the Galaxy.

For one, I think that it was a great choice to have 80s Japanese pop playing during the intro, given that the Guardians films have always had special place in their soundtrack for old music. Just in case you’re wondering, the song used is Mariya Takeuchi’s Plastic Love.

I would have also been fine if they picked anything out of an old anime, but the Plastic Love just sounds like it belongs in a Guardians film already.

For now, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has fallen intro troubled times. Director James Gunn was fired by Disney after what some are calling was a smear campaign by alt-right supporters. There was a public outcry to have Gunn re-hired from the fans and the main cast themselves, but Disney has decided to stay adamant with their decision to not have him brought back.

Either way, GuardiansVol. 3 is still happening. It’s just a matter of time when.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was originally set to come out sometime in 2020.
