Yesterday a Twitch ad had come out announcing that the PS5 was going to be officially revealed on Thursday, and while there was some doubt on Sony's part, the studio has officially released the announce teaser confirming the June 11 reveal.
We don't have any official description that came with the teaser, but we do have the tagline, "Join us for a look at the future of gaming." No doubt everything we've been curious about will be revealed this Thursday.
Though the PS5 has not been officially revealed, we have some bits and pieces of information about the console that has come out online. For one, it looks like Sony is not going to prioritize backward compatibility and instead will focus on newer games moving forward. Word also has it that Xbox Series X is definitely the more powerful console, but I guess we'll just have to wait until the official reveal before we can compare.
While the Xbox boasts on hardware, there is no doubt that PlayStation has locked on to some great exclusives. A lot of people are hoping that this announcement comes with the official reveal of God of War 5 or Spider-Man 2. There are also some hopes for a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn or at least a new Jak & Daxter game.
