It's finally happening. Warrior Season 3 just got an action-packed trailer confirming that the crime drama will return with new episodes in June.
The teaser trailer for Warrior Season 3 takes us back to San Francisco's Chinatown where the bloody Tong Wars continue. Andrew Koji's Ah Sahm puts it quite precisely by saying, "Things are getting worse out here."
Warrior Season 3 will pick up immediately after the events in the previous season where Mai Ling schemes to shut down the Hop Wei while Ah Sahm is dealing with the aftermath of the war. Needless to say, things truly are getting worse for Chinatown at this point.
Warrior is based on an original concept and writings of the late Bruce Lee. The series is set in the late 1870s in San Francisco's Chinatown amidst the Tong Wars.
The third season will bring back Andrew Koji, Dianne Doan, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Perry Yung, Langley Kirkwood, Miranda Raison, Chen Tang, Chelsea Muirhead, Mark Dacascos and Joe Taslim.
Mortal Kombat star Joe Taslim had previously expressed his hopes that Warrior would be renewed for a third season despite Cinemax ceasing production of original programs.
"I hope, fingers crossed, that it's happening underground somewhere," Taslim told Epicstream in 2021. He then admitted that he is ready to reprise his role as Li Yong for Warrior Season 3.
"Definitely, Two years in South Africa, working with beautiful people, and it's Bruce Lee's legacy. I feel like it's more than a job there, they're my family. If they want me to come back, family first so definitely," Taslim said.
It certainly looks like Joe Taslim got his wish. Warrior Season 3 is officially happening and is set to premiere in June.
The Warrior Season 3 episode count has not yet been revealed. Nevertheless, the series will premiere on Max on June 29, 2023.
