Zack Snyder's Justice League will finally be released on HBO Max sometime next year. There's still some work to do for Snyder's original vision to come to life and it'll likely cost millions. Early reports suggest that it might be around $20 to $30 million, but the WarnerMedia Chairman hints it could be more than that.

In a recent appearance on the Vox's Recode podcast, Bob Greenblatt opened up about the challenges in making the Snyder Cut happen as well as some budgetary costs. He pointed out that the Snyder Cut technically doesn't exist yet because Snyder is still "building it" and that it isn't "as easy as going into the vault" and finding it just "sitting there."

As expected, the process is quite complex, with Greenblatt saying new VFX shots are needed. "It's a radical rethinking of that movie," he said. "And it's complicated and wildly expensive." Greenblatt pointed out that he can't give away too much so he's not going into detail about it yet.

When asked by host Peter Kafka if Snyder's Justice League will cost $30 million, which is what was said in early reports, Greenblatt said, "I wish it was just $30 million and stop there."

It is still unclear if it'll be a movie or a miniseries of some sort. Greenblatt revealed they spent "a lot" of time trying to figure out how it'll work, and it wasn't actually hidden from the fans for a big surprise. They genuinely went through "many, many hurdles" and confirmed the news once they were sure about the Snyder Cut going into the streaming platform.

For now, Greenblatt can't talk much about it yet, but his comment seems to be hinting at an even bigger budget for the Snyder Cut and possible challenges to actually have that budget for development.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will be released on HBO Max sometime in 2021.
