Warner Bros. Might Already Be Planning A Joker Sequel

It looks like Warner Bros. is already hoping to capitalize on the success of Joker. The Joaquin Phoenix is currently only on its second week but a new report suggests that the studio is already planning a sequel that will continue to focus on the Clown Prince of Crime's story.

The report comes from We Got This Covered, which cites an anonymous source who has revealed that Warner Bros. is already interested in developing Joker 2. Although the details on the sequel are not yet confirmed, there is a possibility that the second film will bring back Phoenix as well as Todd Phillips to direct the film.

We're not quite sure if Phoenix and Phillips will be up for the idea of working on a sequel but it isn't much of a surprise that Warner Bros. is considering a second Joker movie. After all, the dark, non-comic book take on the DC villain's story has already proven itself when it took home the top prize at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this year. In addition to that, the first movie has already earned more than $307 million worldwide and is expected to continue being a huge box office success in the next week.

While a Joker sequel might seem like a great idea for Warner Bros, it is important to point out that the idea has not yet been confirmed by the studio. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Joker is still screening in theaters worldwide.
