Elizabeth Olsen is easily one of the most popular celebrities in the world right now and her meteoric rise to superstardom has a lot to do with her involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But long before Marvel Studios' door came knocking, the WandaVision star originally had her sights set on a different media franchise and that is HBO's hit fantasy series Game of Thrones. Some of you may not be aware of this fact but Olsen auditioned for the role of Daenerys Targaryen 10 years ago.

However, fate had other plans for the then Hollywood newbie and she didn't get the part, losing the role to the equally talented and gorgeous Emilia Clarke. Admittedly, the Scarlet Witch actress said that she bombed her audition and even went as far as describing it as an "awful" experience. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lizzie recalled that time she once pursued becoming the Mother of Dragons.

She said: "Yes, I auditioned for Game of Thrones. I auditioned for, like, the assistant to the casting director in a small room in New York with just a camera on me and them reading the script. I was doing the Khaleesi speech when she comes out of the fire. It was awful. I didn't get a callback."

It's hard to imagine how things would've been like if she actually passed her audition. Maybe she and Emilia would've traded places, who knows? But one thing's for sure, Elizabeth was always meant to do great things in Hollywood and she didn't even need the help of her iconic sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley to make it big in the industry. The best is yet to come for her and I'm excited to see what's next for her career.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen is set to make her MCU return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
