Initially intended to be released in 2020, WandaVision's release date was pushed back due to the pandemic. WandaVision is one of the nine MCU series to appear on Disney+ alongside The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Secret Invasion.
WandaVision, as the series title suggests, will feature Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) after the snap of Thanos in Endgame. The series would delve into the powers of Wanda and explore how much-untapped potential she has yet to unravel considering that she is already powerful enough to bring Thanos to his knees and resort to alternative measures. Fans theorized that Wanda created a whole new reality where Vision is surprisingly alive even after he was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. This led to speculations that the events of WandaVision will head straight to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and how Wanda would fit into the story.
The series will also introduce new characters such as Agnes (Kathryn Hann), who fans believe to the Agatha Harkness, an ancient witch who is old enough to remember the sinking of Atlantis, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), who is set to play Ms. Marvel in another upcoming mini-series, and the Agents of SWORD. With these new faces to enter the MCU, it can be said that MCU is just as ever-expanding.
Given that Wanda and Vision only shared limited minutes in the previous Avengers films, having their own mini-series would reconcile their time on screen. Being the banner of Phase 4 of the MCU, Wanda and Vision are expected to play a much defined and larger role in the upcoming installments of the MCU.
The series would premiere on January 15, 2021, via Disney+ which will be available in the UK. Disney+ is available in the UK for a monthly subscription of £5.99 or £59.99 for a year.
