VIXX Ravi's arrest warrant was dropped following the idol's admission to the crime.
Reports revealed that Ravi attempted to evade military service following his official enlistment in October. It was soon revealed that he is the famous idol rapper who used a broker for military enlistment evasion.
Amid the controversy, the Seoul Southern District Court's special investigation team for evasion of military service requested an arrest warrant earlier this month. The judge officially responded Monday.
VIXX Ravi's Arrest Warrant Dismissed
On Mar. 6, chief judge Kim Ji Sook of the Seoul Southern District Court launched a probe into Ravi and examined his arrest warrant filed on Mar. 2 after he allegedly violated the Military Service Act. The request for arrest was made, although he was not on the list of people scheduled to be prosecuted.
After a thorough investigation and interrogation, the judge ruled that it is hard to determine whether Ravi could flee or destroy evidence. Ravi also admitted to the charges; thus, the judge said the arrest would be unnecessary.
"While these charges are serious, it is standard to conduct investigations of suspects without detention. In light of the objective evidence collected thus far, [the suspect] has admit to the charges," the judge said, per Newsis (via Naver). "His residence and career are stable and when considering various factors, such as social ties, it's hard to say there's a need to arrest the suspect at this stage."

The news about the Beautiful Liar rapper's evasion came out following the arrest of a group of brokers earlier this year. They all received charges of corruption for evading military service by helping their clients to have an appointment with a neurologist and giving them a false medical diagnosis.
With that, they can be exempted from serving in the military or receive a lesser grade.
The brokers reportedly promoted their "service" by saying that their services were used by an idol rapper — who was soon named Ravi.

On Oct. 27, Ravi officially started his service. He said that he would be serving as a social service agent.
However, the joint investigation team alleged that he contacted a military broker to help him show false symptoms of the condition. As reported by The Korea Herald, a digital forensic of the broker's phone reportedly showed Ravi receiving advice and counseling before the reexamination.
The investigators also found Ravi's military documents on the phone.
