With Season 2 now in its final episodes, Vinland Saga finally animated the iconic “I have no enemies” scene from the manga to the delight of fans.
Season 2 may not have been as action-packed as the first, though it continues to be highly praised by fans for its story and character development.
The latest episode is one of those that proves the show’s impressive quality.

Vinland Saga Season 2 Continues to Get Praise From Viewers
The first half of Season 2 was a slow burn, as it mostly followed Thorfinn’s time on the farm. Though the second half finally picked up, but not in an action-packed way.
Instead, the second half showed the development Thorfinn has undergone in the years after the first season’s events. His experiences on the farm, especially what happened to Arnheid, helped shape his current state.
Because of how well Vinland Saga has handled Thorfinn’s growth, fans have continued to praise the anime’s story, animation, and voice acting.
Despite the change from Wit Studio to MAPPA, the show still retained key people from the first season, including director Shuhei Yabuta. So, this meant that the first season’s quality was retained for Season 2.
Along with the animation and direction, fans also praised the voice cast for bringing the characters to life. Particular praise has been given to Arnheid’s VA, Mayumi Saco.
Manga creator Makoto Yukimura has also been nothing but supportive of the anime. In fact, he even says quite regularly how he believes the anime is superior to the original work.

Vinland Saga: Thorfinn’s ‘I Have No Enemies’ Scene Gets Animated
The second season has so far done justice to the various iconic scenes from the manga, and the latest one is Thorfinn’s “I have no enemies” line, which he utters when he had to endure 100 punches from Drott.
This is a memorable scene in the manga as it’s also a callback to Thors’ words to him early in the series.
It signifies that Thorfinn finally understands his father’s words, along with what it means to be a true warrior.
Aside from how well the scene was acted and animated, the whole episode was also praised for its direction.
Canute VA Kensho Ono was also praised by fans for his moving rendition of the king’s speech.
Vinland Saga Season 2 will continue with Episode 23, which will be released next week on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
