We're a few weeks away from the release of Insomniac's Spider-Man game, called Spider-Man PS4 by the fans, and it's going to feel like a long wait. It already looks like one of the best games to feature the wallcrawler and might even be able to compete with the Batman: Arkham series. As we wait for the game to come out, Sony has decided to release the biographies of the villains appearing in the title and they are pretty intriguing.
Spidey has one of the best rogues galleries in comics, only being second to Batman, and it seems like the developers in Insomniac are going to use them in intriguing ways. The Vulture, for example, now has cancer after years of using his flight suit and has been promised a cure from Mister Negative in exchange for his assistance. Rhino also wants to be stripped of his suit and has also been offered a similar deal.
Villains like Shocker, Electro, and Scorpion are a little more generic but still slightly interesting. Electro wants to become a being of pure living energy, Scorpion wants a clean criminal record, and Shocker has been motivated by something "more sinister."
Mister Negative and Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin, seem to be the two leading baddies and have more interesting profiles, though the one for Negative is slightly more intriguing. Fisk claimed to bring order to New York and might be proven right given what's been happening since his arrest. Negative actually wants to get revenge on a powerful person for making him like this. Could it be Norman Osborn?
Spider-Man PS4 comes out on September 7.
