Venom: Woody Harrelson's Role Finally Revealed As [SPOILER]

Venom has finally hit theaters and although initial reviews have been underwhelming, there is something to look forward to in the Sony film. We now know who Woody Harrelson is playing in the comic book movie and it's nothing less than awesome.

Fans have been speculating about Harrelson's role in the film but that information was kept firmly under wraps. Although there were some interesting theories, it still couldn't prepare people for what happened in Venom.

Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

In the first post-credit scene, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) goes back to being a journalist and lands an exclusive interview with a convicted serial killer (Harrelson) in prison. The murderer welcomes Eddie with a message written in his own blood then has an uncomfortable exchange with the reporter. At one point, the killer declares that when he gets out, "there will be Carnage."

The criminal, of course, is none other than Cletus Kasady, who eventually becomes Carnage in the comic books. The prison scene certainly nods at how Cletus becomes the host of Venom's offspring in the comics. Although it did not reveal whether the Symbiote left behind a little something for the murderer, we can expect to see Carnage in action soon.

Hardy has already confirmed that he is signed on for a sequel so there is a huge possibility that Harrelson will be the next big villain in Venom 2. However, Sony has not yet announced when they will start working on the next film.

The first film certainly hinted at what we can look forward to in Venom 2. Hopefully, we will get to see Harrelson back in action as the two Symbiotes clash in an epic moment really soon. Stay tuned for more updates on the possible sequel.

Venom is currently showing in theaters worldwide.
