Venom: Photo of Eddie Brock's Notebook Detail's Carnage's Origin

[THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR VENOM]

As speculated by everyone, Woody Harrelson turned out to be the SUMC's Cletus Kasady a.k.a. Carnage, and we got a brief look at him in the Venom mid-credits scene. NYCC 2018 actually had a prop on display that was Eddie Brock's notebook, and it details Kasady's origin before he was locked up in San Quentin.

Check it out:

Here are Brock's notes typed out:

Cletus Kasady

*Currently in San Quentin*

- Killed his grandmother by pushing her down a flight of stairs

- Went on a huge massacre in New York City; 11 murders – Ryker's

- Dug up his mother's grave after the massacre, Oedipus Complex

- He has an insane mind and a lust for destruction—homicidal maniac

-As a child, he grew up in St. Ester Home for Boys after becoming an orphan

- Did Cletus set the fire at St. Ester

- It killed the disciplinarian administrator… Revenge?

- As a boy, he tortured and killed his mother's dog with a drill—antisocial

- Pushed a girl who would not go out with him in front of a bus. She was killed instantly

- Unpatterned bloodshed = The Ultimate Freedom

We don't know how much of this will actually make it to the origin seeing as this is just some promo material, but it gives us a good idea of how insane Sony wants this version of Kasady to be.

Personally, the reveal of Kasady felt kind of ridiculous to me counting that Woody Harrelson's wig looked pretty ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I think Harrelson's casting was perfect, but he literally looked like he was wearing a Carrot Top wig when he was first revealed.

In the comics, Kasady was Brock's cellmate, and when Brock broke out with his symbiote, it left offspring which bonded with Kasady and turned into Carnage. Carnage was so insanely powerful that it took Spider-Man a team-up with the Fantastic Four and Venom just to take Kasady back into custody.

Granted a lot of people think the Venom movie is terrible, but it's still making a lot of cash in the box office, and it looks like the sequel is inevitable. I was just hoping that Sony would put a cap on this SUMC and just let Marvel Studios do their own thing with the characters. I mean, who even wants a Kraven the Hunter movie without Spider-Man?

Catch Harrelson as Kasady in Venom now out in theaters.
