Venom Just Officially Moved Past Justice League At The Global Box Office

Venom might have been flooded by poor critic reviews during its release, but the very first installment in the Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC) has been raking in the cash, receiving love and patronage from viewers around the globe.

Not only has Venom had the highest October weekend in Hollywood history, but it's also officially beat the DC Extended Universe's Justice League movie at the box office.

Box Office Mojo has the latest numbers for Venom and now with its total of $673.5 million haul, Venom has $15 million more than Justice League at the global box office. A disappointing box office flop, Justice League only turned in $657.9 million at the global box office when it made the rounds in cinemas last year. Despite the film's nearly perfect cast choice, Justice League was plagued by a troubled production and the results of the movie did not fare well with fans.

Venom, on the other hand, has been heavily criticized for its poor storytelling and its terrible plot, but fans can't help but enjoy the dynamic the Symbiote Venom has with Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock. Not only has the internet been making interesting comic panels featuring Eddie and Venom's friendship, but some have also gone as far as to ship the two together.

Because of its potential as a cult classic, Venom is well on its way to earning more than $700 million and above at the box office with its edge coming from international film markets.

Venom is currently screening in cinemas.
