The premiere of Venom is only a week away yet Sony continues to release new clips from the highly anticipated film. The latest footage features Eddie Brock being attacked by Carlton Drake's men. However, Eddie and his new friend aren't willing to back down so easily.
The Venom clip opens with Drake's thugs pushing their way into Eddie's apartment. When one of the men addresses Eddie, the Symbiote inside him demands, "Who the hell is this guy?"
"I'm gonna need Mr. Drake's property back," the man declares as his companions aim their guns at Eddie. The flabbergasted reporter immediately throws his hands up in surrender, making the Symbiote ask, "What are you doing?" The leader of the thugs orders them to "take him down" so someone tasers Eddie. That's when the fun ensues.
Eddie is clearly not ready for a fight but becomes an unwilling participant as the Symbiote attacks the thugs. At one point, Eddie is confused when his entire arm grows large with the Symbiote's help. Nevertheless, he uses his new fist to knock out the man who is fighting him.
The clip concludes with all the thugs unconscious. Naturally, the Symbiote sees this as an opportunity to get a quick snack. "Outstanding," it says. "Now, let's bite off all the heads and pile them up in the corner." Eddie is still bewildered yet he manages to ask, "Why would we do that?"
It's an awesome clip that shows us how confusing it must be to play host to a Symbiote while offering a glimpse at the action we could look forward to in Venom. It looks like Eddie will have a hard time dealing with the Symbiote's appetite for human body parts and violence. Nevertheless, we can't wait until the film finally premieres.
Venom will hit theaters on October 5.
