Following the huge success of the first two films, Sony is officially moving forward with a third Venom movie. So far, the details regarding the titular character's next outing in the Spider-Verse remain under wraps with the exception that Tom Hardy is expected to be back in the role.
Now, it looks like the film has cast its first new cast member as Deadline has reported that Ted Lasso star Juno Temple is joining the cast of Venom 3. However, the details regarding her role remain under wraps except that she will be the female lead.
Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote the first two films, is set to take over the director's chair for the third outing. She is also writing the screenplay based on the story that she conceived with Hardy.
It is unknown yet whether other cast members from the previous films such as Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Peggy Lu are going to return in the third installment. There are also no reports yet on whether it will crossover with the other Spider-Verse properties.
Temple is known for playing Keeley Jones in the hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso where she received Emmy nominations for the role. She also appeared in films such as Atonement, The Dark Knight Rises, Maleficent, Wonder Wheel, and Palmer.
Following the current third (and potentially last) season of Ted Lasso, the actress will be seen next in the fifth season of Fargo, which is about to finish production soon. Last year, she co-starred in the limited series The Offer.
While we don't have the details yet regarding the role that she will play in the film, it is still exciting nonetheless that Temple is going to be part of the film. She is certainly a talented actress and it is curious to see how her character will play into the story.
