After its announcement back in December 2022, the upcoming fantasy anime Unnamed Memory got a new trailer that finally featured actual footage from the series.
Aside from clips from the series via the new trailer, a visual for the show was also released on its official Twitter account. Much like the trailer, the visual highlighted its protagonist, Oscar.
These new promo materials for Unnamed Memory were revealed during the recent Dengeki Bunko 30th anniversary event.
Though given that its release is still quite a ways away, fans of the source material may have to wait a bit longer for more details.
Fantasy Light Novel Series Unnamed Memory Is Getting an Anime
Unnamed Memory is an upcoming fantasy anime that’s based on a light novel series.
While there have been many light novel-based anime, most of these are isekai, so it’s a bit refreshing to see a proper fantasy show this time.
What’s also interesting is that the light novel source for this anime is complete as it is only six volumes long, though a sequel novel series did begin in 2020.
As for its story, Unnamed Memory follows Oscar, who seeks the power of the Witch of the Azure Moon to break his curse where any woman he takes for a wife will be killed.
Soon, he meets Tinasha, the Witch of the Azure Moon. But instead of wishing for his curse to be taken away, he decides to take Tinasha as his wife as he believes she will be able to survive the curse.
While Tinasha isn’t keen on marrying Oscar, she decides to live with Oscar in the royal castle as she researches a cure for his curse.

Unnamed Memory Anime Shares New Trailer
While the initial announcement came with a video, it wasn’t a proper trailer as there were no clips from the anime. But finally, the new trailer showed new footage featuring Oscar and Tinasha.
In the anime, Oscar is voiced by Yoshiki Nakajima (Yo Uei in Dr. Stone: Stone Wars). Meanwhile, Tinasha is voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger in Spy x Family).

This upcoming anime is being made by ENGI, the studio behind shows such as Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, as well as the upcoming Medalist anime.
Unnamed Memory was originally set to release in 2023, though the anime’s release date was delayed to sometime in 2024.
For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
