Uniqlo has released lots of anime fashion collabs in 2023, and it seems that the Japanese clothing giant isn’t stopping anytime soon. After revealing its Haikyuu collection, Uniqlo announced a new graphic tee collection featuring the works of Fujiko F. Fujio, the Doraemon creators.

The designs of this new collection were unveiled on the brand’s official website.

Four graphic tees make up the collection, and while Doraemon appears in the designs, the iconic blue robotic cat isn’t the only character there.

Fujiko F. Fujio may seem like just one person, but they actually refer to Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko, a manga artist duo that was active from 1953 to 1987.

Doraemon is easily the duo’s most popular work globally, but this isn’t the only series from them.

After all, the Fujiko F. Fujio duo have worked on other titles such as Obake no Q-Taro, Ninja Hattori-kun, Kaibutsu-kun, and more.

Fujimoto was born in December 1933 while Abiko’s birthday was just some months after in March 1934. Thus, March is essentially the 90th anniversary of their birth. To celebrate, Uniqlo unveiled its new collection.

Uniqlo is no stranger to anime and manga collaborations. After all, the brand has released collections featuring Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Chainsaw Man designs in 2023.

On top of these, there was also the World of CLAMP collection, which put the spotlight on CLAMP’s iconic titles like Cardcaptor Sakura and Magic Knight Rayearth.

The brand has also released Doraemon collections before, but this collab is a bit different as it also features other notable works from the manga artist duo.

As with Uniqlo’s recent collections, this lineup features four graphic tees. Doraemon is a fixture in all four designs, but other Fujiko F. Fujio works can be seen.

These include characters from titles like Perman, Kiteretsu Daihyakka, Mami the Psychic, and Pokonyan. Check out all four designs here:

The four t-shirts will be available in Mens and Kids sizes, with each tee having a price tag of JPY 1,500 (around USD 10.5) and JPY 990 (around USD 7) upon launch, respectively.

This collection will be released in Uniqlo Japan stores and online in mid-March 2024.

For now, there’s no word yet on a release date in the US, but chances are that it will make its way to US shores some weeks or months after its Japanese release.
