The 16-part episode historical series follows the story of a queen, named Im Hwa Ryeong (Kim Hye Soo) who is determined to protect the grand princes at all costs.

The queen starts to doubt Consort Hwang after she discovers that the concubine and physician Kwon, the one who treated the Crown Prince used to be his patient.
Moreover, she also discovered that Consort Hwang was the one who recommended the physician to treat the Crown prince, which she strongly denied.
With this, she has been keeping an eye on her as well as the concubine’s father, the Chief State Counselor.
Meanwhile, with the competition getting more intense day by day, Grand Prince Gyeseong made a shocking discovery concerning the kingdom.
He found out that the monk, Seo Ham Deong, is planning to commit treason once he gets into the palace.
Grand Prince Gyeseong told Prince Uiseong about it but winning is all that matters to him.
Despite his brother’s warning, the Prince still brought the criminal in front of the King but the royal was disappointed with this action.
One of the highlights seen in Under the Queen’s Umbrella episode 10 is Consort Hwang’s downfall.
In hopes of making her son the next Crown Prince, exposed the secret of Grand Prince Gyeseong. In addition, she also plotted a plan to murder the royal and make it look like it was a suicide.
Fortunately, Consort Ko, is now on the side of the Queen, after she saves her son, Prince Simso from suicide.
With this, she tells the Queen that she revealed the Grand Prince’s identity to Consort Hwang due to her deep anger at the time.
Thankfully, the queen along with her men and court lady was able to protect the young royal and hide the painting which illustrates the grand prince’s image of a woman.
As for Consort Hwang, she was demoted to the lowest rank of concubine.
However, the furious concubine promised that she would make the Queen pay more than the humiliation she had received.
