The Undead Girl Murder Farce anime got a new visual that highlights its cast, including the three characters that serve as the main stars of the show.
While the main trio appears prominently in the middle, the visual also highlights the rest of the show’s colorful cast, which features several iconic characters, including Sherlock Holmes, Arsène Lupin, James Moriarty, and more.
You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the series yet, but it does hold a lot of promise, enough to be considered a dark horse of the new anime season.
Undead Girl Murder Farce: Summer 2023’s Dark Horse Anime
When asked about the Summer 2023 season, chances are that anime fans will think of shows such as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Mushoku Tensei Season 2.
Aside from these titles though, there’s also Undead Girl Murder Farce, a new anime that’s set in the late 19th century, complete with various supernatural creatures.
This anime is made by Lapin Track, the studio that worked on Sarazanmai alongside MAPPA. Lapin Track also helped Brain’s Base with the anime Endride.
Both the show’s studio and its source material may not be hugely popular, but its cast features several well-known voice actors.
For instance, the anime stars Tomoyo Kurosawa (Mitsumi in Skip and Loafer), Taku Yashiro (Kouichi in Horimiya), and Makoto Koichi (Sakura Otome in Lycoris Recoil) as the main trio.

Undead Girl Murder Farce Hypes Up Premiere With New Visual
As for its story, Undead Girl Murder Farce follows Aya Rindou, a demon who is beheaded by a mysterious half-demon, though she continues to live as a disembodied head.
She is joined by Tsugaru Shinuchi, a half-demon who was also attacked by the same person that beheaded Aya. Also with them is Shizuku Hasei, a maid under Aya’s employ.
The three form a detective team, and they solve various mysteries as Aya continues to look for her body.
In the anime’s latest visual, the trio is highlighted alongside various characters they will meet in their journey. Check out the visual here:
While the series is only one episode in, it seems that the show is already getting a good reception.
On Reddit, most of the reactions are positive, with many hoping that anime fans give this show a watch.
Undead Girl Murder Farce Episode 1 was released just recently on Crunchyroll in the US and other selected regions.
New episodes will be released every week on the platform.
