Umbrella Academy Star Uncertain If Netflix Series Will Get Season 2

The first season of The Umbrella Academy certainly concluded with a major catastrophe that simply begged for a second season. But is the Netflix series actually going to be renewed? Aidan Gallagher isn't too sure about that just yet.

Gallagher recently spoke to Collider about his character The Boy and how he took on the role of a time-jumping teenager who is actually a 58-year-old man. In addition to that, the Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn star was asked what fans could look forward to in the second season. Gallagher was stumped since he doesn't know what will happen to Number Five just yet.

"We all have our own little feelings about it, but we really know that much," he admitted before pointing to showrunner Steve Blackman being the best person to ask about the future. "Steve is really the brains behind this whole operation," Gallagher said.

Although he isn't sure about the show's sequel, Gallagher is hoping that Blackman already has plans for the second season.

"I hope there's a Season 2. I'm sure there will be a Season 2, and I'm sure he's got it all figured out. I really trust him," he said.

At this point, we really do need a second season. After all, the first season ended with Vanya Hargreeves causing the Apocalypse, forcing The Boy to take their other siblings back to the past in an effort to change the future. It would be interesting to see how they will face The White Violin in Season 2.

Netflix has not yet renewed The Umbrella Academy for a second season. Stay tuned for more updates on the series.
