Ultraman Anime Reboot Is Making Its Debu t In Netfix

There's a brand new Ultraman reboot and it looks like the anime's making its debut on Netflix.

According to the Anime News Network, volume 12 of the Ultraman manga of Tomohiro Shimoguchi and Eiichi Shimizu just recently let fans know that the upcoming CG anime adaptation of the popular manga series was actually going to make its way to Netflix next year.

Though the idea of seeing an Ultraman CG adaptation might not sound that enticing to anime fans, CG is pretty great for series that are given live-action adaptations like Power Rangers and Godzilla.

Featuring the adventures of Shin Hayata, the original Ultraman's son, the new Ultraman will be produced by Production I.G. and will be helmed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed Alpha) and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex).

The new series serves as a sequel to the original Ultraman television series that began back in 1966 and the manga that was featured in the Monthly Hero magazine of Shogakukan since November 2011. Decades back, in the original manga, Shin Hayata from the Scientific Special Search Party actually saved the Earth from a Kaiju invasion. Now, the Ultraman reboot comes after the era of peace that Hayata manage to build. With a new dark force on the horizon, the world has started the call for a new Ultraman – Shinjiro, the son of Shin who's been passed down with the "Ultraman" factor.

Ultraman doesn't have a specific release date yet, but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
