Fortnite's fourth season culminated with an epic Marvel event featuring the menacing "devourer of worlds" Galactus but players experienced an irksome issue in-game as Twitch completely stopped working following the massive gaming event. While things were going down via Twitch, which was seen by millions of viewers across tens of thousands of channels, the live streaming platform experienced a number of site issues while the event was underway which led to the platform pretty much being unusable.

The Twitch Support account immediately addressed the issue via Twitter and although they didn't directly mention that it was caused by the Galactus event, it's no brainer that it was indeed the reason Twitch crashed. As of writing, everything seems to be back to normal over at Twitch although some users are still reporting issues.

Looking at the bright side though, Fortnite's Galactus event was a massive success, to say the least. The epic Season 4 closer was able to generate unprecedented buzz online with its 15.3 million concurrent players, making it the biggest Fortnite event ever. The game also garnered a combined 3.4 million viewers on both YouTube and Twitch. Not bad, eh? Hopefully, Twitch has learned its lesson and will improve the platform's ability to accommodate a large number of users so an issue like this won't happen again in the future.

Speaking of the hit battle royale game, Fortnite's new Season 5 Battle Pass is set to include new characters, as well as Mando and Baby Yoda.
