BL anime fans can look forward to another exciting anime. That’s because the Twilight Out of Focus anime just announced its July release date window.
The show’s release window was revealed in a recent update on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. There, a key visual featuring the show’s main characters was also shared.
Which Studio Is Animating the Twilight Out of Focus Anime?
Twilight Out of Focus is an ongoing BL manga series that’s serialized in Kodansha’s Honey Milk magazine. The manga has also been published in English by Kodansha USA since March 2022.
As for the anime adaptation, it was initially announced back in July 2023. Animating the series is Studio Deen, a popular and long-running anime studio that has worked on a wide array of titles.
Studio Deen is perhaps best known for producing classic shows such as Ranma ½ and the second half of the 90s Rurouni Kenshin anime.
More recently, Studio Deen has also worked on shows like Sasaki and Miyano and Ooku: The Inner Chambers.

Twilight Out of Focus Anime Voice Cast and Staff Revealed
The show’s main cast members have been revealed, and they feature lots of big names. The confirmed voice cast members include:
- Yuma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Hisashi Otomo
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke Hashibira in Demon Slayer) as Mao Tsuchiya
- Shin Furukawa (Saitama in One-Punch Man) as Zin Kikuchihara
- Masatomo Nakazawa (Haruki Nakayama in Given) as Giichi Ichikawa
- Takuya Eguchi (Loid Forger in Spy x Family) as Rei Inaba
- Soma Saito (Tadashi Yamaguchi in Haikyuu) as Shion Yoshino
As for its staff, Twilight Out of Focus is being directed by Toshinori Watanabe (of Tokyo Ghoul:re fame). Meanwhile, Yoko Kikuchi and Yoshimi Narita serve as the character designer and series composer, respectively.

Twilight Out of Focus BL Anime July Release Date Window Confirmed
While the show’s premiere is just a few months away, this upcoming BL anime has yet to get a proper trailer.
Based on its visual along with its star-studded cast though, BL anime fans should put this series on their watch list when it premieres in July 2024.
For now, there’s no word yet on an exact release date for Twilight Out of Focus. There’s also no info on which platform it will be streamed on outside of Japan.
