Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2 Continues in Spring 2024
The Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy anime began in July 2021 with a 12-episode first season by studio C2C (of Otaku Elf and Shangri-La Frontier fame).
Even though the series was fairly successful, it took nearly three years before the second season came out.
Finally, fans were treated to more episodes in season 2 in winter 2024, showing more of Makoto Misumi's adventure.
What’s interesting about the second season is that it is produced by J.C. Staff (One-Punch Man season 2) instead of C2C. Moreover, the new season also has twice the number of episodes.
Yes, Tsukimichi season 2 will have 25 episodes in total with a consecutive two-cour release schedule, meaning the series will continue airing in the spring 2024 season.
Having a longer second season is great, but one question on fans’ minds is if there will still be enough source material to adapt for another season.

Will There Be Enough Material for Tsukimichi Season 3?
Much like most isekai anime, Tsukimichi is based on an ongoing light novel series of the same name.
The novel series began back in May 2013, and it has since gotten 19 volumes. It has also gotten a manga adaptation that began in 2015, which now has 13 volumes.
Given the number of volumes for both the novel series and the manga, there may be enough material for a third season, though probably not another two-cour season.
Some fans think there won’t be though, especially considering how fast the pace of the second season is, to the point that some details are being skipped.

As there was a nearly three-year gap between seasons 1 and 2, coupled with the fact that there may not be enough source material to cover given the anime’s pace, it’s not clear if Tsukimichi will get a season 3 announcement soon.
Of course, it’s tough to predict right now, especially as part 2 of the second season is just about to air. We’ll likely get a clearer picture in the middle of spring 2024.
