It has been two years now since the first season started airing, and finally, Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- announced that Season 2 will release in January 2024.

Along with the release, a new trailer was also shared, giving fans a small taste of what to expect. And despite being half a year away, lots of other details were revealed.

Specifically, the new season will feature lots of new staff members. This is because Season 2 will be animated by a new studio that should be quite familiar to most anime fans.

Tsukimichi is an isekai anime series that aired its first season in Summer 2021. As with most isekai titles, this anime is based on a light novel series.

The anime’s first season was animated by C2C, the studio behind works such as Reincarnated as a Sword and Otaku Elf.

Given the studio’s fantasy and isekai leanings, Tsukimichi seems to be the perfect anime for them.

Interestingly, it was revealed that the second season will be animated instead by J.C.Staff. Because of this, the show’s staff has also been overhauled.

J.C.Staff is a well-known anime studio that has worked on popular shows such as Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma, DanMachi, A Certain Magical Index, and more.

Although the studio has made a lot of hits over the past decades, it also had some misses, at least based on fan reception.

One of these is One-Punch Man Season 2, which got criticism for its animation and story.

Thankfully, the cast from the first season is confirmed to return, including Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro in Demon Slayer), Ayane Sakura (Ochaco in My Hero Academia), Akari Kito (Nezuko in Demon Slayer), and Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen).

It’s also expected that the other voice actors from the first season will return to portray their characters, though an official announcement has not been made yet.

What was revealed is that the new season will feature a two-cour release, meaning the series will air from January to June 2024.

The two-cour release announcement also confirms that the new season will be double the length of the first. After all, Season 1 only had 12 episodes.

For now, there’s no word yet on when exactly in January Tsukimichi Season 2 will air, but it’s likely going to begin broadcast in the first or second week of the month.
