The official theme song of True Detective: Night Country is Billie Eilish's Bury a Friend.

The song was first released in 2019 and quickly became the pop singer's breakout hit. It is part of Eilish's debut studio album entitled When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? When the track was released, it climbed up to the sixth spot on the UK singles chart.

Ever since the first season, the soundtrack of True Detective has been filled with some really good tracks. These have been carefully picked out to fit the theme of the season.

For True Detective: Night Country, it doesn't seem like a surprise that Eilish's song was chosen as the official theme song. It features a haunting, dark, yet beautiful vibe that the season brings too.

The opening theme for past seasons of True Detective featured Far From Any Road by The Handsome Family (season 1), Nevermind by Leonard Cohen (season 2), and Death Letter by Cassandra Wilson (season 3).
