Trading is Finally Coming to Pokémon GO

Years after Pokemon GO debuted on mobile phones and caused a temporary phenomenon, the developers in Niantic are finally bringing one of the most requested features to the game. That's right, trading is finally coming to GO, along with a number of new features that will excite current players and might even tempt lapsed fans into giving the mobile title another shot.

According to Niantic, friend features are finally coming to the popular Pokemon spin-off. Players will be able to add friends via trainer codes, making the game more sociable than before. This will let existing players send items to their friends and trade Pokemon, which is a long time coming.

If that wasn't surprising enough, Niantic revealed that these new features will be coming out later this week. Admittedly, these updates are usually announced in the same week as their release date but when you consider how requested this feature was, it's still a big deal.

Now, fans of the mobile game only have PvP features to wait for. This is arguably more requested than trading since the series basically made its name on battles, so expect a big demand for this soon. Considering how Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee will have trading and battling, GO might want to catch up.

Pokemon GO can be downloaded now on iOS and Android phones.
