Lycoris Recoil may still not have its highly anticipated next season, but its character designer is going to be busy. Aniplex announced that character designer Imigimuru’s light novel series Too Many Losing Heroines! is getting an anime adaptation.
This new anime project was announced recently with a new teaser and a key visual that features the show’s titular heroines.
Not a lot of info has been shared regarding the anime right now, but considering how big of a following Imigimuru has, this will likely be a show that anime fans should check out when it premieres.
Imigimuru Light Novel Series Is Getting the Anime Treatment
Imigimuru is an artist who has worked on many manga and light novels over the years. Imigimuru’s popularity shot up last year thanks to their character design work for Lycoris Recoil, one of 2022’s breakout anime hits.
Thanks to the series’ popularity, Lycoris Recoil was confirmed to get an anime sequel, but it’s still not clear if this is a proper second season or if it will be an OVA.
Despite there being no new info on the sequel, Imigimuru will soon be busy again with another anime, this time for his and Takibi Amamori’s light novel series Too Many Losing Heroines!
This light novel follows Kazuhiko Nukumizu, an unremarkable high school student. One day, he sees Anna Yanami get turned down by her friend.
Anna confides with Kazuhiko about her situation. Back when she was a child, she made a promise to her childhood friend to get married. This friend of hers was the same guy who now rejects her advances.
Soon, Kazuhiko meets other losing heroines – girls who are in similar situations where they are turned down by guys they have feelings for.

Too Many Losing Heroines! Anime Gets Teaser Visual
The upcoming anime adaptation was announced today by Aniplex alongside a new teaser and a key visual featuring three heroines. In the middle is Anna Yanami, the first of the girls to be introduced.
The teaser of Too Many Losing Heroines! consisted mostly of illustrations, so there were no actual clips in it. There’s also no word yet on the show’s cast and anime studio.
Given that Aniplex is producing the series, chances are that one of the studios under the company such as A-1 Pictures or CloverWorks will produce the series.
Thus, there’s a chance that Lycoris Recoil studio A-1 Pictures will handle animation duties.
Right now, there’s no word yet on an official release date, though it’s confirmed that the Too Many Losing Heroines! anime will premiere in 2024.
