Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy reflected on his years-long work on the Star Wars series as he is currently finishing the second season.

The Rogue One prequel series is considered to be one of the best Star Wars projects to date due to its gritty and mature take on the franchise's lore and has received numerous awards and nominations.

Fans have been patiently waiting for the second (and final) season which finally wrapped filming earlier this year after several delays and pushbacks due to last year's Hollywood strikes.

During a recent interview, Gilroy provided a brief update on the progress of Andor season 2.

He revealed that they are currently working on the post-production of the second season and reflected on how the Star Wars series is the most important work of his career so far.

"I’ve been on Andor for five years now, we’re finishing the second half. I’ve had a lot of fun over the years, but I don’t know whether I’ve ever done anything as important as these 24 hours of storytelling we’re doing now," he said.

"I don’t know if it’s just ‘cause it’s a thing I’m on, but I don’t think so. I’ve never had a chance to work this big before."

It is interesting to hear Gilroy gave such high regard to his work on the Star Wars series considering his past resume that includes the likes of Michael Clayton (where he earned Oscar nominations) and the Bourne franchise.

There is no doubt that what Gilroy and his team accomplished in the series is nothing short but impressive considering the limitations of the IP and it is exciting to see what they have in store for the second and final season.

The second season of Andor is currently slated to release on Disney+ in 2025.
