We're a couple of days away from The Suicide Squad's theatrical and streaming release and Warner Bros. just kicked off the festivities at the grand premiere and red carpet event of the James Gunn-directed project which fans and critics claim is his best work as a filmmaker. The event was home to several highlights, including John Cena staying true to his promise and wearing his Peacemaker outfit to the red carpet.
Naturally, the spectacle which took place in Los Angeles was attended by a who's who of A-list celebrities and DC actors, including Leslie Grace and Xolo Maridueña who were recently cast as Batgirl and Blue Beetle respectively for upcoming HBO Max spinoff projects. But arguably the biggest stunner of them all was the appearance of Spider-Man actor Tom Holland who surprisingly showed up at the premiere by himself.
Obviously, the star of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home has zero connections to the DC Extended Universe so it came as a huge shock to the MCU fandom when the British actor was spotted supporting a film from Marvel's "rival" franchise. Check out some of the reactions here:

Now, you may think that Holland has no business showing up at the premiere of a DCEU flick but before anyone raises their eyebrows and puts malice onto Holland's appearance at the red carpet event, I'm pretty sure he's just showing his support for his colleagues in the industry and there's nothing wrong about it. If anything, it goes to prove that there's really no bad blood between Marvel and DC contrary to popular belief.
The Suicide Squad is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on August 5, 2021. It will also be available on the same day on HBO Max.
