People are rarely surprised when Tom Holland drops spoilers these days. After all, the young actor has a real tendency of revealing a little too much about his Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks. Interestingly, Holland somehow let slip something surprising about Doctor Strange in Avengers: Endgame last year.
The slip happened while Holland and Avengers: Infinity War co-star Benedict Cumberbatch were being interviewed by Access back in 2018. At one point, the two were asked who had flubbed their lines more while working on the film. After some confusion about the meaning of the word "flub," Cumberbatch admitted that he messed up a lot during filming.
The spoiler comes in when Holland tried to defend his co-star by stating that Cumberbatch had technically difficult dialogue.
"He has the most difficult lines, though. He has to talk about so much Quantum Realm... stuff," Holland said, to which Cumberbatch concurred.
Anyone who has seen Infinity War knows that Doctor Strange never said anything about the Quantum Realm at all. However, it is possible that Stephen Strange will discuss the Quantum Realm in Endgame, which was shot back-to-back with the third Avengers movie.
The little slip-up could confirm that Doctor Strange knows about the Quantum Realm. In addition to that, it might mean that both Cumberbatch and Holland have a lot of screentime together in Endgame. However, there has been a lot of reshoots for the upcoming MCU flick so we're still not sure if the scene the two actors were talking about will actually end up in Endgame.
The synopsis for Endgame reads as follows:
"After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe."
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
