Tom Holland Reportedly Making an Appearance in Upcoming Spider-Verse Movie

Ever since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, there have been questions about what's next for Tom Holland in the role. So far, the details remain scarce about his next project although Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige already confirmed that work is already underway for the fourth Spider-Man film.

There have also been rumors that Holland will be making an appearance in one of Sony's Spider-Verse films. While they are not part of the official MCU canon, the studio does own the rights to the character which means that they can include him in one of the projects if they want to.

The reports claimed that the actor might reprise the role in the animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After all, it explores the multiverse and different versions of Spider-Man so there is a likelihood that they'll bring him along in the adventure although Sony remains mum about that.

Now, it looks like the rumor might be true after all. According to reporter Jeff Sneider in The Hot Mic podcast, he heard that the reason behind Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's delay (after it was originally set for release last year) was to get Holland on board to be part of the film.

He claimed that part of the film will have Miles Morales end up going to the live-action dimension where he encounters Holland's version of Spider-Man. He also added that Miles will remain in his animated form when he goes to the live-action world.

As the reporter also stated when he revealed the scoop, it still should be taken with a grain of salt so there is the likelihood that the information will not end up being true.

If Holland does end up appearing in the film, it is going to be a significant one since it will be the actor's first appearance as Spider-Man outside the MCU (if you don't count the archive footage of him that they used in the mid-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage).

It also tells us that the animated film will be taking swings since they might explore the live-action dimension and it would be interesting to see how it will all play out if it does happen. For now, let's just wait and see whether this scoop does end up being true when we see the film in just a few months.
