Tom Holland On Why He Was Absent From Avengers: Endgame’s Hollywood Premiere

Tom Holland might be expected to appear in Avengers: Endgame, but while the film's Hollywood premiere in Los Angeles was packed with the film's cast, crew, and with stars associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Spider-Man: Far From Home was missing from the event.

Fans were worried about what this meant for Holland. Did the actor have a less significant role in the film? The British actor's iteration of Spider-Man has become a fan-favorite, and fans are hoping that the wall-crawler gets a significant chunk of the spotlight after his heart-breaking death in Avengers: Infinity War.

Taking to Instagram, Holland posted a video message for fans, telling them how much he appreciates their concern and explaining why he had to be absent from Endgame's global premiere.

Fans posted the message on Twitter, crying over how sweet the Marvel star really is.

"Hey everyone. I just wanted to do a little message and say sorry I wasn't at the premiere last night," Holland said in the video, "I'm here in Alabama...no I'm not I'm in Atlanta shooting...what are we shooting, we're shooting Chaos Walking, I'm a little tired. But I noticed on the red carpet there was a thing with a thank you cam, for all the fans, you are amazing fans, and so I wanted to do my own thank you cam and say thank you so much for allowing me to be part of this amazing journey. It's really...you changed my life and I could've never imagined this would ever happen to me, so thank you so much, and I hope the premiere was as amazing as the last one. I'm sure it was amazing. The Russo Brothers, you're amazing. I hope the film performs in every way possible, thank you, everyone, so much and go and see Avengers: Endgame."

Guess Holland had work to attend to – which is a bit surprising considering the news that Chaos Walking has been deemed "unreleasable" by executives at Lionsgate despite the big names attached to the project. Maybe the film has hope after all despite all the reports saying that the film turned out so poorly even with Edge of Tomorrow's Doug Liman as the film's director and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind's Charlie Kaufman as its scriptwriter.

Still, we can't wait to see Holland in both Chaos Walking and in Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame makes its big premiere on April 26, 2019.
