Tom Hanks Got Emotional Recording Toy Story 4

It seemed that Toy Story 3 had marked the ending of the franchise for Pixar, but a fourth movie is in the works—it's just had some trouble getting off the ground for the past few years. Tom Hanks will be back to voice everyone's favorite cowboy doll, and Hanks himself says that he got a bit emotional recording the part.

Talking to The Chris Evans Breakfast Show, Hanks explained:

"The way you record Toy Story, you're in a room with the team that has created it. When I went in for my last day of recording, I wanted to have my back to them, because usually, you're facing him so you can look right up and you can talk about it. But I didn't want to see them and I wanted to pretend they couldn't see me. When I realized what they were going for, I realized, 'Oh, this is a moment in history."

We don't really know what Hanks means by that, but it could mean that we're going to have yet another tear-jerking moment in the film. Ever since the first movie, Toy Story has always managed to bring in some heavy scenes in the midst of all the comedy and shenanigans.

Personally, I thought that the third film was able to give us a great emotional cap to the story of Woody and the gang. After that, I can't imagine how Pixar will top the story off thematically. Are Woody and the gang going to be thrown away? Is Bonnie going to outgrow the toys too?
