Tom Cruise Open to Joining the DCEU

Tom Cruise was set to star in the upcoming Dark Universe franchise by Universal Studios, but The Mummy bombed, and it looks like that cinematic universe is dead in the water. There have been rumors going around that Cruise is a top choice to play Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern Corps. movie, and Cruise says that he's very open to joining the DCEU.

When asked by MTV on whether Mission Impossible co-star Henry Cavill has goaded him on to join DC, Cruise said:

"There's always another mountain in anything. I'll never say no if I find something that's interesting, and I think an audience would like to see it, and they're going to be entertained by it, and I feel like I can contribute something."

At the age of 55, Cruise still manages to impress everyone with his physicality, and he would be perfect as an old and grizzled Hal Jordan of the DCEU.

Seeing that Green Lantern bombed in the box office, Green Lantern Corps. is said to be looking to change the formula. This time around, there will be two Lanterns as the main focus, Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Stewart is said to be the new recruit with Jordan the experienced Lantern trying to show him the ropes.

Justice League had already teased us with the existence of the Lanterns, but we still don't have an official announcement for the Green Lantern Corps. film. Hopefully we get an update before the year ends.

Catch Cruise in Mission Impossible: Fallout in theaters July 27.
