Thor: The Dark World's Dark Elves Almost Appeared in Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame had one of the best climaxes ever seen in the MCU's history, with some even claiming that it could also be one of the best in cinema history. Seeing all of the heroes take on Thanos' massive army was a sight to behold and that one shot of Captain America willing to take on these foes by himself before his reinforcements came was spectacular.

However, fans will be interested to know that Thanos almost had some reinforcements. In an interview with Slash Film, Digital Effects Supervisor Matt Aitken revealed that they almost added some Dark Elves from Thor: The Dark World. No word on if Malekith himself would have been in the movie but there were attempts to bring some of his elf soldiers to the final battle.

"At one point, there were going to be - potentially dark elves were going to show up, they didn't make an appearance. The dark elves were mentioned, but we never got as far as rigging them or making them for the battle."

It would have been nice to see Malekith and his dark elves get used better since Thor: The Dark World is far from the best MCU film. Jason Aaron recently made Malekith the main villain for Marvel's line-wide event War of the Realms, where he is actually used in a despicable and evil manner.

Avengers: Endgame might still be showing in theaters.
