This One Actor Has Starred In Four Different DC And Marvel Movies

DC and Marvel purists might envision a great line between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe that fans and actors can't cross, but that isn't true at all. In fact, one actor's been in Marvel and DC movies at least four times.

While a Marvel star making his way to the DCEU and vice versa isn't entirely unheard of, one actor's been able to dip his toes into both lakes more than any other star, and that actor turns out to be Djimon Hounsou.

Hounsou's little back and forth between Marvel and DC didn't go unnoticed by Marvel fans over at Reddit. As of 2019, Hounsou has starred in two MCU films and two DCEU films. The actor first appeared in Marvel as Korath in Guardians of the Galaxy back in 2014. Back then, he was playing the part of Ronan the Accuser's (Lee Pace) tracker.

Then, four years later, he appeared as Ricou The Fisherman King in DC's Aquaman movie. Fans might not have recognized his voice behind the CGI character, but the Oscar-nominee was behind the merman king of the Fisherman Kingdom.

A year after that, Hounsou returned to Marvel, this time in Brie Larson's debut as Marvel's strongest Avenger. Appearing in Captain Marvel, the actor played a version of Korath decades younger than when we first met him. In the film, he's a loyal soldier of the Starforce.

Now, just a few weeks away, Hounsou is set to appear in DC again, this time as the Wizard Shazam in Shazam!, Zachary Levi's first standalone film.

Man, Hounsou certainly has the best of both worlds.

Captain Marvel is currently screening in cinemas.
