Excitement is already brewing for the return of Geralt of Rivia in season two of Netflix's hit action-fantasy epic The Witcher which pretty much gave series lead star Henry Cavill's career some sort of resurgence, not that he wasn't already a huge star, to begin with. Now, Henry has just announced that they've wrapped filming in Yorkshire ahead of England's return to lockdown which is set to begin later this week. In case you didn't know, the United Kingdom has seen a spike in COVID-related cases which isn't a good sign for films and television shows filming in the area.

Taking to his social media pages, Cavill excitingly shared that he's done filming scenes in Yorkshire. However, work doesn't stop there as the Justice League star and The Witcher's crew will be moving to a new location south of England, a studio, to be exact to continue filming the project which is slated for release in 2021. He wrote: "England returns to Lockdown on Thursday so it is time for me to depart Yorkshire and The extraordinary North, and head back down South to continue shooting in the studio. Thank you for hosting all of us on season 2 of The Witcher. Hopefully, I shall return to your hills, dales, and fells soon. Stay strong and stay safe, my friends."

Season 2's production was originally scheduled to begin earlier this year but thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak, plans ultimately got halted. As frustrating as that might've been for everyone involved in the project, at least they're now back on track, and even though it won't be premiering this year, fans can rest assured knowing that the series' cast and crew are doing everything in their power to make the new season even greater than its predecessor. As it stands, we still know very little about the upcoming season's plot and other details so I guess it's best that we just wait for further developments. For now, we can just revisit Geralt's exploits in the epic first season.

The official release date for The Witcher Season 2 has yet to be announced.
