Fans were delighted when The Witcher live-action series finally announced the lead actors who will portray Ciri and Yennefer. Not surprisingly, Lauren S. Hissrich has confirmed that yet another beloved character will be joining the highly anticipated Netflix show.
Hissrich has been busy offering updates on the show's development on her official Twitter account. Hissrich decided to announce the appearance of a particular character after the show's official cast list was revealed. Take a look at her tweet below.
This shouldn't be a major surprise for fans considering Roach's importance to Geralt of Rivia. One fan jokingly pointed out that they were concerned that Henry Cavill's character might need to run or fly to get around. Hissrich responded to the tweet by teasing she would revise the script to adopt the new idea.
Roach's appearance in The Witcher series has been something that Cavill has been thinking about for some time. The Justice League actor previously shared an image of himself on a motorcycle calling it "the mechanical Roach." Cavill also wrote that he is already looking forward to meeting the real Roach in the future.
The Witcher recently added Freya Allan as the young Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer. Jodhi May will play Queen Calanthe while Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson was cast as Calanthe's consort Eist. Adam Levy joins the cast as the druid Mousesack and MyAnna Buring will portray Tissaia of the magical academy. The Last Kingdom star Millie Brady has been confirmed as Princess Renfri. Mimi Ndweni is Fringilla and Therica Wilson-Read will play Sabrina, both young sorcerers.
With the cast in place, it's only a matter of time before the Netflix series begins production. After all, the show is expected to air next year and the network is clearly eager to get started on the plan. Hopefully, we'll be getting new updates before the end of the month.
