The Wheel of Time Star Josha Stradowski Says Rand has 'Most Incredible Arc' in Fantasy

There is little doubt that literature is filled with amazing characters who have truly stunning stories. However, Josha Stradowski believes that Rand al'Thor, the character he plays in The Wheel of Time, has the "most incredible" story arc in fantasy. In addition to that, Stradowski joked about not wanting to work with Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike!

Josha Stradowski was one of the Wheel of Time cast members who participated in an Emmys 'For Your Consideration' Panel released by Prime Video. During the panel, the actor spoke about preparing for his role as one of the lead characters in the show.

"I did some research," Stradowski said, "and it seemed like Rand's arc was one of the most incredible arcs that a character can...well, in fantasy, basically."

Stradowski then joked about his reaction to learning who will play Moiraine Damodred.

"And Rosamund Pike was in the project so I wasn't sure if I should do it," he said before adding, "But then I talked to [showrunner and executive producer Rafe Judkins] and decided to do it."

It's hard to imagine why anyone would turn down the chance to play a truly important character or work with Rosamund Pike. Nevertheless, we're glad that Stradowski ultimately accepted the iconic role.

But what will happen to Rand in The Wheel of Time Season 2? The character was last seen taking on the Dark One and fracturing the unbreakable symbol he stood upon. In fear of going mad, Rand flees and goes into hiding but there is little doubt we'll see more of him in the second season.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 started production last year and is already in post-production. For now, the second season has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
