The first season of The Uncanny Counter came out in 2020. This means that it was almost three years since the first season of the show was released.

Here is a short reminder of what happened in the first season.

The Uncanny Counter follows the story of a group of four individuals called Counters, who are fighting against evil spirits from the afterlife who have taken over humans.

So Mun (played by Jo Byeong Gyu) is the new Counter who joined in the first season after having been chosen by a spirit.

In Season 1, we follow So Mun as he learns the ropes of being a Counter and discovering his own potential in the end.

He is trained by his other Counters: Ga Mo Tak (played by Yu Jun Sang), a previous police officer who lost his memories; Do Ha Na (played by Kim Se Jeong), a Counter with the ability to read minds and sense evil spirits from afar; and Chu Mae Ok (played by Yum Hye Ran), a healer.

By the end of the first season, So Mun discovered the reason behind his parents' untimely deaths. Mo Tak also started to regain his memories and was supposed to rekindle his long-lost love but was tragically shot by his archenemy.

In The Uncanny Counter Season 2, the group is being hunted down by Pil-gwang and his group, Gelly and Wong. The evil spirits discovered they could be stronger after ingesting the souls of the Counters.

To help them fight against Mon, Pil-gwang convinces Mon's friend, Ma Ju-seok to embrace the evil within him and become an evil spirit too. Ma Ju-seok proves to be a tough enemy for the Counters.
