Who Are Lisa and Brian From The Ultimatum?
Lisa Horne, 32, and Brian Okoye, 29, were among the cast members of Netflix's The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On. They joined the show after Lisa issued an ultimatum to Brian.
Before joining the show, their relationship started out as a casual hookup. After six months, Lisa wanted Brian to propose to her.
But as Netflix explains, Brian was "hesitant to pop the question due to Lisa's jealousy issues and her tendency to turn disagreements into explosive arguments."
And indeed, the two had a big fight while on The Ultimatum Season 2. By the third episode, the two decided to leave the reality show.
Before their departure from the show, Brian flirted with Riah, another contestant who was not ready to marry her boyfriend. The show also revealed that Riah was interested in knowing Brian.
Of course, this did not sit well with Lisa. When Brian left to talk with Riah, Lisa interrupted them with a series of expletives. She then stormed off and said: "F*** you, I'm done!"
Why Did Lisa and Brian Leave the Show?
Their premature departure from the show caused a lot of questions from viewers. Since this is the nature of the reality series, many were wondering why Lisa seemed to be so jealous of Riah.
As it turns out, Lisa revealed to Brian that she was pregnant. This caused the two to put an end to their time on the show.
At the beginning of episode 3, the show aired the exact moment when Lisa told Brian she was pregnant. The news surprised Brian at first, but he later said: "Wow, this is a lot, but I'm happy. I'm super happy."
For avid viewers of the reality show, their time on The Ultimatum was short-lived. They are also wondering whether the two decided to split up or stay together for the sake of their family.
The Ultimatum: Are Lisa and Brian Still Together?
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On was filmed from September to November 2022. By that time, Lisa was already pregnant. This means that by now, Lisa has given birth.
Unfortunately, there are no pictures of her pregnancy or baby on her social media accounts.
In an interview with People magazine, Brian referred to themselves as "parents."
"And as parents, I think it gives us a little bit more of the softness that we need. Even though a lot of people don't see that, we have a really great friendship and just relationship as a whole."
But are they still together? In an interview with Tudum, Brian shared about the decision he chose to stay with Lisa:
"Either I could be like, ‘I’m not ready for this,’ or I can man up and say, ‘I’m with you 100%. We decided that we were going to focus on building a family and bringing a child into the world.”
Lisa explains to People:
"I don't have any regrets in regards to how it worked out, especially with the pregnancy because that has been an amazing journey in itself."
She also explains how the show has helped with their relationship:
"It definitely brought us a lot more self-awareness in regards to [us] emotionally. It’s easy for him to notice when I’m triggered about something or when I’m upset about something. He takes those things very, very seriously now. And as well as me, I’ve noticed how I communicate with him a lot more easily now, and I’m a lot more observant to him and being communicable about what he wants and things of that nature.”
More importantly, leaving the show was the best decision for them since it allowed her to focus on what she really needed: a healthy pregnancy.
At the reunion episode, Lisa confirmed that they have a seven-week-old baby boy named Mason and that they "enjoyed being parents" (via Today). The reunion episode was filmed 10 months after the show ended.
Brian shared that:
“I think the first few days were still surreal. It’s like I have this little human who I’m responsible for the rest of my life. But once he was here, in our arms, it changed everything for me for sure."
But has Lisa forgotten the main reason why they joined the show? She says:
“I still have told him, you know, I’m not going to be a baby mama forever. Like, you know, you still have to put a ring on this finger.”
Although Brian is "100% locked in" right now, he says that they are "not at that point yet."
“I think we’re doing things the way that we want to do it. And I think that, for the first time in a while, we’re on the same page on that."
