It was reported recently that The Twilight Zone was getting a revival for 2019 with Jordan Peele attached as the host. What's interesting is, the show has just cast another comedy veteran in the form of Parks and Recreation's Adam Scott.
As per TV Line, Scott has been cast in one episode which is a remake of an original titled Nightmare at 20,000 Feet. Besides Scott, actress Sanaa Lathan (The Affair) has also been cast in the show, but she'll be appearing in another episode called Rewind.
The original episode had starred William Shatner as a passenger on a plane who could see monster that was tearing apart the wing. He spends the entirety of the episode looking crazy as no one would believe him, but by the end he actually turns out right.
Though I can imagine that the episode is more serious with Shatner as the star, I can't help but think it will have a more comedic take with Adam Scott in the lead. If anything, he has impeccable comedic timing, and I would watch him slowly unravel in a plane as he tries to convince everyone that something was going wrong.
Then again, if it's a serious role, I imagine that Scott would be able to pull it off. With his work in Party Down and Parks, I think he's mastered playing a character who seems to be more aware than everyone else in the room.
No release date has been set for The Twilight Zone revival, but it's expected to premiere sometime next year.
