An early success to celebrate for everyone behind The Suicide Squad is their Thursday preview box office as they score $4.1 million on top of the $7 million the film already bagged from the early release in five other markets.

This makes the projection of Warner Bros. for the film to get more or less $30 million for their opening weekend, and if the trend goes like this, it could be higher than that.

The Suicide Squad had an early preview on Thursday night and the film opened to $4.1 million in the box office making the R-Rated film reach the projected opening weekend sales of $30 million, possibly having even more with the reviews of those who already watched it being pretty great.

While this projection may seem quite low, Warner Bros. seems to be considering the fact that the film is released during the pandemic which restricts some viewers from watching it in theaters.

Still, with the early box office earnings of The Suicide Squad, this projection may exceed more than expected especially now that people who have already watched it are still psyched as to how amazing the film is, easily succeeding that of the first version of the film released in 2016. James Gunn takes pride in this film and he must be proud of the outcome of his version.

Overseas, The Suicide Squad had an earlier release in the United Kingdom, France, Turkey, Switzerland, and Belgium and that already secured the film $7 million in total from the 2,409 theaters it is in. As the hype continues, this number could only grow bigger and go higher. It even bested Jungle Cruise's opening in these countries.

The film is a much-needed push for theaters to get back on their feet and recover after being badly hit by the effects of the ongoing global health crisis.

The Suicide Squad is now in theaters and on HBO Max.
