The Suicide Squad Poster Teases The Thinker's Possible Connection to [SPOILER]

There are way too many awesome things happening for The Suicide Squad right now. In addition to the release of the first trailer, James Gunn also revealed several new character posters of Task Force X. But did one of the posters actually tease at the possible connection between The Thinker and another supervillain?

Gunn shared the character poster on his official Twitter account. Check it out below.

We're loving how Peter Capaldi once again has his hand out as if he's still playing the Twelfth Doctor in Doctor Who (albeit with less hair and those curious things sprouting out of his head). And while the other character posters feature the characters surrounded by confetti, polka dots, or boomerangs, The Thinker finds himself in the company of dozens of little starfish with one eye.

Of course, those aren't harmless starfish. They are clearly the miniature versions of Starro, who has been confirmed to be the main villain in the Suicide Squad trailer. So could this confirm that The Thinker is working for the giant alien starfish?

The Thinker's scene in The Suicide Squad trailer could be a clue. When we see him, he is being given rules by the other members of Task Force X. This could mean that he is a late addition to the team and could be in charge of pacifying Starro with the power of his mind.

While we like the idea of The Thinker being the only one who can control Starro, it could also go the other way. Will Starro control The Thinker instead and takedown Task Force X? We'll find out for sure this August.

The Suicide Squad will premiere in selected theaters and on HBO Max on August 6, 2021.
